Raven have introduced new points of interest, addressed many of the bugs, and responded to player feedback to improve its overall feel. Undoubtedly, Caldera has improved over the past few months. Couple these factors together and you’ve got a recipe for a poorly received map. On top of that, many players believed it to be both smaller than Verdansk and contain fewer points of interest. On release, Caldera had a tremendous amount of bugs and glitches that immediately soured players on the new map. The Vanguard Warzone map is Caldera – and it’s fair to say it’s had its share of problems. Reception to Caldera has been mixed – some people love it and some hate it. ![]() Caldera took Warzone to the Pacific and back in time to World War II to coincide with the setting of 2021’s Call of Duty: Vanguard. After that original map, and a 1980s inspired reskin for Black Ops Cold War, came Caldera. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, fans got to know the original map, Verdansk, like their own backyard.
